Summer is Finally Here.......

Well today is the first official day of summer vacation/holidays for all of my kiddos. So far so good...lol. We were up at the crack of dawn except for my 13 year old, Alex who participated in his second favorite activity...Sleeping.
I have been busy sewing up a storm. Unfortunately, I have run out of bribes for my models so I will share them anyway thanks to my trusty dummy..... well all except the first picture.. I caught Olivia in a good mood. The sun was shining and it was so beautiful outside......

My blossoming model....aka Annabelle.....

My shy little Annabelle has been bitten by the modeling bug. She actually volunteered, yes you heard me correctly. No bribery, trickery or even a hint of a threat and Annabelle donned the latest Kanga Kids creation and refused to take it off.

Check her out. She even has poses and attitude....big time!!!!

Did you know that we only have 5 and a half weeks of school left? Time flies by way too fast.....soon it will be summer and all of 'my' time will be consumed with amusing the small people, making snacks for the hungry hoardes and picking up the never ending piles of towels shoes and accessories.

Until then, I am working like a crazy person to build my Etsy inventory and fill orders.

Olivia was so excited to try on the newest piece. I love this halter top...so cool, summery and breezy. We just need some balmy weather to accompany it.......

My Shy Annabelle's Cameo

Hard to believe but I have two other girls. Olivia is the camera hog in the family. I finished a twirl skirt in Annabelle's size and I was floored when she offered to model it. This is a really big deal.......she is so shy it took me over a year to talk her into ballet class. My eldest daughter Emi is the goofball and hides from the lens...so all of her pictures are of the back of her head.

I just finished my version of the MJ Ballerina dress and of course Olivia was ripping her clothes off and demanding to be a fashion model... Have I created a fashionista monster?????? only time will tell. So once again here she is....tadah!!!

Spring is almost here....right????

Just when I thought we were done with winter......I find myself in a blizzard. The 5 kiddos are all on Spring Break and we are officially snowed in..... I didn't however let this stimie my creative juices. In the hope of spring sooner rather than later I created this cheerful outfit, complete with abstract paisely snails and tiny ladybugs all over. It may be cold and snowy outside but inside Olivia looks so summery in her Annabelle's garden. Yes I feel compelled to name everything I make...gives me a feeling of order where there is none.

My sweet Emilia smocked dress with matching lavender ruffled legggings. Soft sweet and comfy...what better way to welcome Spring.

I have always had a soft spot for smocked dresses, I remember sitting under my Nana's sewing table watching her make me smocked dresses in bright colorful Hawaiian prints..remember gals we are talking about the 70's here...lol...

It is a comforting feeling passing this tradition on to my own three girls and my customers much loved children.

My first official Blog...

OK. Here I am blogging. Who would have thunk it..... I am so excited to be sharing my passion with anyone who cares to read this. Please readers feel free to add to and comment on my ramblings. This afternoon for the first time in quite awhile I have the house to myself and am able to think clearly without interruptions. All 5, I repeat all 5 of my children are otherwise occupied. I miss them, but not so much I would hasten their return.
Along with my current creations I would also love to share my new and exciting fabrics. I am a huge fan of Amy Butler...I love her prints, colors and designs. I rceived a large order today and it is all so beautiful....I could roll around in it.
