- Why the name Kanga Kids you may ask??? No, I don't make my customs from Kangaroos and their body parts or from their cute cuddly marsupial cousins. The name is a tribute to my homeland, Australia. Although I love my new home I fondly dream of the land down under, her white sandy beaches, glorious sunshine and of my family who all still reside there. Designing and creating is my passion and KangaKids is a tribute to the family and my dear homeland both of whom I miss on a daily basis. Me...I am mostly boring. I still have that 'cute' Aussie accent and silly sayings like bum, bugger and g'Day much to the delight and embarrassment of my US family. I have lived here for 14 years, have a patient and mostly understanding hubby and 5 great kids who keep me on my toes. Coffee, starbucks Caffe Mocha is my drink of choice, and is my best friend especially on the mornings after I have stayed up sewing way too late.
